Our Weekend

The weather was much warmer this weekend...like in the 60s...so PP took advantage of playing outside. She spent the majority of the day Saturday outside. I was feeling a bit under the weather so I didn't get out to take photos of her in the sunshine. Here is what I did instead...

Our awesome couch blanket ;)

PP likes to move our new couch pillows when we are lounging

Today she invited a friend over and they went outside again! Soccer is going to start soon so they got in a little practice before the rain. And I got in some practice soccer shots. I have finally figured out how to get non-blurry action shots :) The ground here REALLY holds water so it was quite muddy. The girls attempted to stay on the sidewalk...it didn't go so well all the time!

After soccer, they showed off their stilt walking abilities...such talented girls!

Stupid Internet

I hate the Internet in my apartment! It is currently not working... but thanks to handy dandy techno dorks I can send a blog post from my phone. It really is amazing how much technology we have literally at own fingertips. I remember calling my dad from a pay phone at the mall to pick me up and now you can't find a pay phone. I will hopefully have Internet again come Monday. I will post some pictures then. I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend :)

The School District Reading Fair

Today was the school district reading fair. Since PP won first place in the school reading fair for her category, she was able to advance to the next round. She has been to this level four times but she cannot seem to make it to the state district reading fair. She REALLY wants to win and advance. I am just proud of her for doing the board solo for the first time. I did help her when sharp cutting tools were involved but other than that, it was all her :)
I used her accomplishment as an excuse to take lots and lots of pictures. She was oh so excited. Here are a few of the many I took. I like to tell a story with pictures so I choose some shots that show her process of setting up the board.
On a side note: I read some pointers yesterday on a photography website so I tried to keep those in mind while I was shooting. I give myself a B- overall but I think the last one is an A!

Getting the props out of her book bag

Adding dog biscuits to hold down her chair

The props

She finally smiled nice for a picture!

Hello Again

Hi!This is my part of the blog. This is the first time I have written on the blog myself.I`m excited about the blog.I`ve wanted one for awhile.I hope my friends will read my blog. What`s the point in having a blog if no one will read it?I want my family to read it too.I am going to hopefully post a update everyday, so I hope you will keep up with my life. But don`t get surprised when I don`t post.I`m a bit forgetful. That`s not a surprise to some of you. That`s all for today.I`ll type tomorrow.Happy Reading!

I'm Baaaacccck!

Hi! I haven't written on the blog in FOREVER!! But now that I am done with grad school (YAY!!) and GBE is in Houston I need more things to fill my evenings. My awesome parents also got me my camera (YAY!!! again) so I want to start taking more pictures. I figured the blog was the perfect motivation for me to do that.
I do not necessarily believe in New Year's resolutions but I do like the idea of new beginnings. I guess a new year is a good place to initiate a change in your life. I know I am only about a month late but better late than never. I needed time to decide what I wanted or needed to change. So in addition to some personal changes I am making I am reading the Bible in a year (using a bible organized in short daily readings), going to try to take a picture every day and post it to the blog, write on the blog more, and watch less TV (that one is for Kim). We'll see how it goes...

Here is the photo for today...I am cheating a little as I did not actually take this today but I really wanted to share this one.

Jo and MP

This is a shot from Christmas. I was practicing with my new camera. I know I have so much to learn but I like how this is a little in focus and a little out of focus. I love how both of them have the same look on their faces. Catching special moments like this one is why I LOVE taking pictures.
